HOSTS Help One Student To Succeed
HOSTS is a structured mentoring program that Ross uses to assist students in the second and fourth grades who need help in reading. Students benefit from one-on-one instruction provided by trained mentors (some staff and many volunteers from the community). Some of the activities students do are: Reading Accelerated Reader books and taking quizzes to test their comprehension Practicing vocabulary words from the reading series Other activities that meet the personal objectives of that students reading program
HOSTS mentors come one to three days each week (their choice) from 9:30 - 10:30 and work with specifically assigned students. To join the HOSTS Mentoring Program contact Connie Eisenbrey at Ross, 424-5489. All mentors will need to have a background check and register with the Child Abuse Administration.
The HOSTS Program at Lulu Ross has been awarded National Exemplary Status for the last seven years. To learn more about the national HOSTS Program and the HOSTS Corporation go to http://www.hostscorp.com
These are some of the wonderful people who participate in our H.O.S.T.S program.
